About Me - Ontario Hiking

Hi, my name is Lauren and I love to hike!

Great meeting you! My name is Lauren Yakiwchuk and I am a long time blogger and photographer from Ontario, Canada. In fact, my full time job is travel blogging and creating content for my travel website, Justin Plus Lauren. When I’m traveling around the world, I’m always seeking the best walks and hikes to spend time in nature and discover beautiful scenery.

Even though I love to travel, I spend most of my days at home. I currently live in Mississauga (in the GTA, or Greater Toronto Area), and most specifically, the village of Port Credit. I grew up in the town of Dundas (now part of Hamilton), so I’m very familiar with lots of local hikes between Niagara and Toronto. Through this hiking blog, I’ll be sharing my favourite walks, hikes, and trails throughout Ontario.

One of my long standing goals is to hike the entire Bruce Trail, a 900km hiking trail that spans southern Ontario, between Niagara and Tobermory. I also love exploring national parks, provincial parks, and conservation areas. I’ll write about hiking trails that you might not have heard about before, too. And lastly, I’ll share hiking tips and tricks to have the best experiences on your day trips and journeys.
